Digital Radiography / Ultrasound
Bay Animal Clinic uses x-ray technology to quickly and accurately diagnose your pet’s reason for pain or sickness. X-ray technology has been around for a long time and in our hospital we use it to diagnose internal injury, broken bones and identification of foreign objects.
X-rays are one of the most important diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. They allow us to view the shape, size and location of organs inside your pet's body. X-rays are useful for examining your pet's bones, lungs, heart, abdomen, oral cavity and other areas of the body. An x-ray can detect bladder stones, a fractured bone, tumor, heart problem, and locate an obstruction or foreign body in your pet's stomach or intestine. Digital radiography is used in our clinic, which allows our doctors to manipulate the images in order to see even the most minute details. If a consultation with a specialist is needed, the pictures can usually be emailed and answers are quick in coming from the specialist.
Bay Animal Clinic takes diagnosing your pet one step higher by offering ultrasound services. Ultrasound is a non-invasive form of technology which emits pulses into skin tissue and those pulses return an image onto a monitor for interpretation by the doctor. Our staff uses ultrasound to diagnose internal bleeding, cancers of the major organs, heart function and even reproductive ultrasounds to determine the number of babies a momma pet is going to have. Our doctors are highly trained in this field and you can rest assured that as part of the diagnostic process the use of ultrasound is an amazing tool to have at our disposal.
